What is the Best Qtel ADSL Service

1- If you want it only for browsing then get the [512KB] it is more than enough for browsing.
2- If you want it for browsing and watching online videos, download some stuff from here and there get the [1MB].
3- If you are using the torrents to download movies, music and can't live your day if you did not download something, then get the [2MB].

The speed difference can be noticed when you start downloading from a static IP or a direct download. The range goes like:
1- [512KB] up to 80 if you were lucky, most of the time between 60 and 70]
2- [1MB] up to 120 but most of the time the range is from 90 - 110.
3- [2MB] up to 200 but most of the time the range is from 140 - 180.

You should notice the download speed varies according also to the upload speed [especially torrent files], if you start for example downloading 3 torrents in the same file and one of them was having an upload rate of your maximum connection speed that can support. You will find that the other 2 would not even start because you reached the maximum upload speed. Try stopping that one that it is taking most of your bandwidth to upload and you will see the others go fast. It is irrelevant to the speed in most of the cases [download speed of the torrent], but it would be obviously depending on your connection speed as everyone got it's own support for the Max. download and upload speed. What I mean is a bad torrent [depends on trackers, leechers and seeders] would always be a bad one, no matter what connection do you have.

Qtel 's Mozaic

-Q-Tel is offering this package for the phone, wi-fi internet, and tv channels starting at 250QR..named the Mosaic package.

It has landline, 512 kpbs internet and Tv bundle pack that separately will cost 200 for internet, 33 for landline (total 233) so 17 riyals only for Tv
Qtel gives the Wireless Modem and TV tuner equipment.
The remote is a programmable remote so you can set your Tv and DVD's remote in that - one remote for all 3.Internet speed is good for 512 kpbs.
Cons: The internet access is only wireless, there is no wired (ethernet) connection, there is ports but Qtel disable it.Qtel wont give the administrator password for the router, which has 2 Voip ports 3 free Ethernet ports for setting up.
Basic Asia (English, Basic Package) Tv Channel package is not a good bundle, more than half is useless channels, if you need to add more channels, still the combinations are not so good for 1 useful channel you will have to take another 4 useless channels.
I am not sure about the Arabic Channel bundles.

The soft Voip applications that I use works fine

Difference between core duo and core 2 duo?

1-http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Difference_between_core_duo_and_core_2_duo

2-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Core_2
Dual core is simply a generic term referring to any processor package with two physical CPUs in one.

The Pentium D is simply two Pentium 4 Prescott cpus inefficiently paired together and ran as dual core.

The Core Duo is Intel's first generation dual core processor based upon the Pentium M (a Pentium III-4 hybrid) made mostly for laptops (though a few motherboard manufacturers have released desktop boards supporting the Core Duo CPU), and is much more efficiently than Pentium D.

The Core 2 Duo is Intel's second generation (hence, Core 2) processor made for desktops and laptops designed from the ground up to be fast while not consuming nearly as much power as previous CPUs.

Another main advantage for the Core 2 Duo is that it's 64-bit organized while those before are 32-bit.

The Pentium D, Core Duo, Core 2 Duo and Athlon X2 are all current CPUs that have dual cores in one package.

Note - Intel has dropped the Pentium name in favor of the Core architecture

Virus Attack called (Conficker ) on April 1st: Eve of destruction or big joke?

Conficker C is the latest variant of a worm also known as the "Downandup" worm whose author is wanted by Microsoft on a $250,000 bounty.

It is expected to download an updated copy of itself or download other malware onto infected computers once the system date on those machines is on or after April 1, 2009, according to the internet security firm CA.

It is also expected to start generating 50,000 web URLs a day, up from 250 per day in previous versions, said an article on the discussion board of internet security firm Symantec Corp., which makes Norton Antivirus and first reported the latest variant of Conficker on March 6.

حساب الوزن المثالي للجسم
http://www.reem4u.com/weight.html

This border on desktop icons can be created when the desktop items have been locked, to unlock the desktop web items right click on an empty area of your desktop. Now select Arrange icons by and uncheck 'Lock web items on desktop' if it has a little tick next to it. If you did not have a tick here then Right click on your my computer icon and view its properties, now click the advanced tab and then on the settings button under performance. Now on the visual effects tab scroll down the list of effects to 'use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop' and put a tick in the box next to it, then click ok. Windows XP SP2 installation on Thinkpad T61

Windows XP SP2 install on Thinkpad T61
If the windows install says "No Hard Disk Found", then
1) Go to BIOS setup (F1 at BIOS screen)
2) Select Config
3) Select Serial ATA (SATA)
4) Select "Compatibility"

Once you've installed Windows XP, be sure to download the "Intel Matrix Storage Management Driver," as specified below. Once the software is installed, you may go back into the BIOS setup, and do the same as above--but set it to "AHCI" instead.

Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver/SATA Hard Drive
Windows XP does not include support for the SATA hard drive out of the box. To install, you have two options. ONE, have the hard drive in "Compatibility" mode, which will allow you to install XP without worrying about drivers. SECOND, you can download and extract the drivers to an external storage device, and install them when the XP installation asks if you'd like to manually install any drivers. Note that, in my experience, the first option is easiest--afterall, you can easily install the drivers after XP is installed, and then switch back to AHCI mode.

If you're interested, the drivers are available here (they also contain detailed instructions on both methods of installation):
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-62909Driver Installation Steps

Problem:
http://anilsaldhana.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

1-During installing the Audio Drivers, if you see "HDA Audio Bus Driver required for Installation", then download Microsoft hot fix KB88111 from URL
and then once you install this, XP should say "Found New hardware". Now, install your audio drivers.
